Connecticut's rarest bat is endangered. A court order now protects it.

In a December 11, 2022 article for CT Insider Vincent Gabrielle details how, in November 2022, the long-eared northern bat was declared endangered, a last-ditch effort to save a species driven to the brink of extinction by a deadly fungus. It is our moral human duty to prevent the extinction of vulnerable wildlife and their habitats. Bats are fascinating and vital to our functioning ecosystem but are commonly misunderstood and feared. With their natural habitats in decline, bats in Connecticut need our help now more than ever.
